Site preparation for EZ StreetUpdated a year ago

Site Preparation

Preparing a site for applying EZ Street Asphalt involves a few straightforward steps to ensure the repair bonds well and lasts long:

1. Clean the Area: Remove any debris or loose material from the pothole or damaged section. This can be done using a brush, or leaf blower. The cleaner the surface, the better the asphalt will adhere.

2. Remove Water: If there’s water in the pothole or on the surface, try to remove as much of it as possible. Although EZ Street Asphalt can be applied in wet conditions, reducing excess water can help improve the bond.

3. Square the Edges: If the area is severely damaged, cutting the edges to create a neat, square hole can provide a better shape for filling and can help the material bond more effectively. This step is optional and usually more relevant for larger or irregularly shaped damage.

4. Check Depth: If the hole is deeper than about 5 centimeters (50mm/2 inches), it’s recommended to fill it in layers, compacting each layer before adding the next. This ensures thorough compaction and stability.

Once these steps are completed, the site is ready for the EZ Street Asphalt to be applied, compacted, and immediately opened to traffic.
